About Simon

Simon Morgan, is a Classical singer much in demand as a concert and operatic performer on the stages of Ireland's premier Theatres, with the country's main orchestras.

His career has seen him travel to perform at concerts on all continents, with venues ranging from the Royal Albert Hall in London to the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. Closer to home he recently established Instant Opera, an initiative designed to increase awareness and accessibility to Opera in Ireland. Instant Opera had their debut to great critical acclaim at the Cavan Arts Festival, and are currently embarked on a major primary schools Opera education scheme in association with Dublin City Council, Cavan County Council and the Arts Council of ireland.

In 2005 he was co Director of a team that organised to bring the world's greatest Tenor, Placido Domingo to the Point theatre Dublin(Ireland's Largest thatre), a highly successful event that we are hoping to restage in the near future.

Constantly busy on the corporate concert circuit, Simon has been flown to places as diverse as Argentina, Chile, Barbados, San Diego, Chicago, new York, Monaco, and Verona to perform to some of the worlds’ Elite.

 

As director of Music Solutions, Simon has organised corporate events for Ireland's leading companies in Irish venues including the Shelbourne Hotel, Adare Manor, The 4 Seasons Hotel, Dromoland Castle, The Merrion Hotel, The Royal Hospital Kilmainham, and the Ritz Carlton Hotel among many others. He has also provided entertainment for private events for some of the country's entertainment and business leaders.

Simon has:

  • orchestrated a traditional Irish song for the RTE Concert Orchestra, that was performed at the Point Theatre, by the best classical singer in the world (one of the original 3 tenors from italia 90), Placido Domingo (Whom I coached in learning the song).
  • performed in The Great Hall of The People in Bejing (with Riverdance…the first performance ever in this historical place by any non Chinese Groups)
  • sang in the first ever Irish Night at the BBC Proms in the Royal Albert Hall, London.
  • sung in venues including the likes of Don’t Tell Moma’s in New York, as a Jazz singer, and sung Big Band material with full orchestras in venues across Ireland and the UK including the National Concert Hall of Ireland.
  • been the featured Operatic soloist performing, live on Irelands Classical Station, Lyric Fm, with The RTE Concert Orchetra, a selection of Arias. I have played many operatic roles including Marcello in La Boheme, Silvio in Pagliacci, and Eugene Onegin in Eugene Onegin.
  • played the role of Antony in the musical Sweeney Todd, at Irelands’ premier Theatre, The Gate, which won best Operatic Production at the irish Thatre awards 2008.
