Starting as a boy Soprano at the age of 4 under the late great Dal McNulty in John’s Lane. Thomas Street, Dublin Simon has been creating music and collaborating with musicians all his life.

He now stands as one of Ireland’s finest vocal performers, collaborators and composers through critically acclaimed projects that have brought him from Myanmar to The Arctic Circle where he curates performances with local collaborators. He continues to explore new musical areas and reimagine more well-travelled musical paths working closely with International Musicians around the world.   • Music Director and Creator of Keep The Home Fires Burning, Songs Of the First World War, debuted on the National Concert Hall Main stage.

  • A former conductor of The UCD Chamber choir, The First Choral Scholar in University College Dublin, a vocalist with the National Chamber Choir, and Anuna, as well as being part of the close harmony group The Key Notes, Simon has worked extensively with vocal harmony groups. Indeed the group he formed, Inis, to sing the single “Fionnghuala” went to number to number 1 on the Irish charts, a special honour for an Irish language song

  • Other projects include Music in Joyce (Trieste, Rome, National Library, James Joyce centre), A celebration of Scott Walker (Glasshouse Music, NCH), A Hoagy Carmichael Tribute (with pianist Brian Connor), several recordings with The Choral Scholars of University College Dublin, and many tribute concerts, produced by Sandra Oman including “Will you Remember”- The love story of MGM Legends, Jeanette MacDonald and Nelson Eddy, and “Waltz of My Heart”-Ivor Novello

  • Collaboration, Education, and the study of Music in Society are what drives Simon in his Artistry. He loves being involved in Music in the Classroom initiatives and helping with Community groups and choirs. From giving Masterclasses, and Guest lectures at Third Level, to working with younger vocalists as they discover their voices, Simon tries to bring out the both the joy and the social importance of Music.
