With Covid restrictions in full effect in 2020, annual Christmas concerts were forced online. This version of I’ll be home for Christmas was recorded at the Kevin Barry Room at the National Concert Hall.
As Part of The Launching of “Thomas Moore Reimagined” at the National Concert Hall, a concert Simon produced and directed, Special guests ranged from Eddi Reader to Eleanor McEvoy on this special night celebrating ireland’s National bard, Thomas Moore. This intimate moment was a collaboration between Simon and the wonderful cork musician and composer, Jack O Rourke
While Simon has appeared on the Late Late show a number of times over the years, including with James Galway and Phil Coulter, Anuna, and Inis, this performance marked Simon’s first solo appearance on The Late Late Show
The song, “E Du Nord” by Kari Bremnes recorded by Simon’s band, The Moorings, ahead of a tour of The Lofoten Islands in Northern Norway. Entitled “The Lofoten Irish Music Raid” the band sailed around the islands landing on coastal towns while performing music on board, and collaborating with local musicians
